ERA European Rental Association
ERA (European Rental Association) is an European association with the aim of promoting equipment rental and the sustainable development of the sector in Europe.
ERA’s activities are manifold, from the assistance and support for national associations to the collection of information, the organization of events and the dissemination of information materials.
Alias has been working with ERA for many years as a provider of digital services.
Thanks to our longstanding experience in the equipment rental sector and the collaboration with a group of students in Business & Administration at the University of Brussels, we have developed an advanced tool for ERA that allows us to calculate the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO: Total Cost of Ownership) of a piece of equipment.
The TCO Calculator is free and accessible for all users. It provides a simple and intuitive interface in which data is entered to work out the calculation. Through a simple technical step, it is also possible to integrate this tool into any website, meaning companies can immediately offer their customers all the features and computing power of this tool.
In addition to indicating the Total Cost of Ownership of machines, the calculator allows you to compare this figure with the total cost of renting and leasing, so users can understand which is the most convenient choice for their business.
The ERA TCO Calculator allows you to register, save your searches in a private area, share your results and perform precise and detailed calculations.
We have also created two animated videos for the ERA TCO Calculator, to promote the tool and illustrate its fundamental functions.
Following the success of the TCO Calculator, we have developed a new tool which is also free, accessible and easy to use. The ERA Equipment CO2 Calculator is able to assess the environmental impact of construction machines.
ERA has, in fact, conducted studies that indicate how optimized management of machinery can greatly affect the carbon dioxide emissions caused by construction jobsites.
The calculator allows you to compare the alternative usage scenarios, to understand how the right combination of key factors, such as transportation and power sources, can favour the sustainable usage of industrial machinery.
